Unpublished Full papers, Notes, and Review articles related to veterinary clinical pathology are accepted. Manuscripts must be prepared in English or Japanese with an abstract written in English. All the manuscripts are reviewed by multiple referees, and are selected for publication on the basis of editorial assessment. Papers with any ethical problem in the care and use of animals are not accepted.
The Journal invites submission of the papers from both members and non-members of the Japanese Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathology. There is no submission charge.
Three copies with original sets of photographs should be submitted.
In the top margin of the first page of each paper, category (Full paper, Note or Review), title, running head, authors' names and addresses with zip code of the institution where the work was done are written. The
corresponding author and his or her address should be added, if necessary. The running head not exceeding 40 letters should be written in capital letters. The lower half of the page should be left blank.
The second page of each Full paper and Review should contain an abstract (240 words or less) and key words (5 or less in alphabetical order). For Note an abstract (120 words or less) and key words (3 or less in alphabetical order) are written.
The following pages in Full paper are prepared in the order of INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION, ACKNOWLEDG-MENTS, and REFERENCES. For Note and Review, these divisions are not necessary, and the text is followed by REFERENCES.
The length of papers, including Tables, Figures and any other appendices, should not exceed 5 printed pages for Full paper and Review and 3 for Note. One printed page containing no title, tables, or figures, may contain around 870 words in Full paper and Review article and 930 words in Note.
A summary in Japanese (600 letters for Full paper and Review article, and 200 for Note) should be attached, if the authors include Japanese. It should contain the title, authors and the institution.
The manuscript should be typed at double spaces (24-26 lines per page) on A4 (215 x 280mm) typewriting paper with enough margins.
The proper noun should begin with a capital letter. The scientific terms of animals, plants and microorganisms must be underlined for italicization.
The use of abbreviations are limited to those absolutely necessary, and they are written in parentheses after the full term at their first appearance in the manuscript.
In the manuscript Arabic numerals should be used for quantitation. The units and abbreviations should conform to the following examples: M, mM, μM, N, %, m, cm, mm, μm, nm, cm2, l, ml, μl, kg, g, mg, μg, ng, pg, hr, min, sec, msec, rpm, Hz, MBq, KBq, Bq, Ci, cpm, dpm, ppm, ℃, J, KJ, lux, CPE, LD.
References should be arranged in the alphabetical order of the authors' last name and numbered consecutively. In the text they should be cited by numbers in the parenthesis such as [1, 3-5, 7]. The abbreviations of titles of periodicals should conform to ISO 4-1972 (E): Documentation International Code for the Abbreviation of Titles of Periodicals, and ISO 833-1974 (E): Documentation International List of Periodical Title Word Abbreviation. The following are examples of References: Titles are omitted in the Note.

Tables are prepared in English with horizontal lines only and the words should begin with a capital letter. Necessary explanations should be given as a footnote at the bottom of each Table. Reference to the footnote are designated by alphabetical symbols in half parenthesis such as a), b), c).
Articles should be divided into files as follows, and sent to the Japanese Journal of Veterinary Clinical Pathology :

* Text of the manuscript: The file should contain all the text from the cover page to the references - Manuscripts in Microsoft WORD are preferred; files with the new extension (.docx) cannot, however, be accepted. Standard fonts (Times New Roman, Century, Helvetica, Symbol, and others) should be used. * Figures: Files should be submitted to MC in PowerPoint, WORD, EXCEL, Photoshop, (JPEG, TIFF), etc., formats. Note that SHS, EXE, COM, VBS and ZIP formats will not be accepted. * Tables: The use of Excel is recommended. The titles of Tables should clearly reflect the contents.
The desired site of insertion of the figures and tables in the text should be indicated in the right margin of the text.
Publication is in principle in the order of acceptance after reviewing by the Editorial Board.

Type-setting and printing of the portion of the text exceeding the length prescribed in Item 7.
Color printing.
Reprints.
